As the war continued to intensify, the number of casualties continued to increase. In September 23, 1950, a medical Service unit from Sweden arrived in Korea, followed by those from India, Denmark, Norway and Italy. Their expedient rescue and treatment activities saved numerous lives. Without these medical personnel who came to alleviate our suffering, the Republic of Korea as we know it would not exist. Their dedication to medicine also healed the souls of those devastated by the war.
